Mystic Krewe
of
Aquarius
Organized in March of 1985, The Mystic Krewe of Aquarius is the second oldest Mardi Gras Social Organization formed since the revival of Mardi Gras on Galveston Island in 1984. We are a non-profit fraternal organization with 165 members including 4 Executive Officers and a Board of Directors. An all-volunteer Krewe, Aquarians design and construct all floats for both Krewe of Aquarius sponsored parades, the Kickoff Parade and the Fat Tuesday Parade. Members also design their own costumes and buy all their own throws and decorations.
Parades
Come join the fun of one of our grand Mardi Gras parades. We sponsor both the first and last major parades of the Galveston Mardi Gras season.
Royal Court
In keeping with Mardi Gras tradition, Aquarius is led each season by a ceremonial Royal Court. The King, Queen, and the rest of the Court are chosen annually through an election by our Krewe members.
Events
Aquarius is more than just parades. The Krewe of Aquarius hosts several events throughout the year, including our Pardi Gras coronation ball, barn bashes, and summer programs. Learn more about what we offer and join us for a fun and exciting time!
Join the Fun
There are many ways to join the Mardi Gras fun, from full membership to participating in one of our events. We even have a limited number of openings for non-member riders on our floats during both parades.
