Marching Bands and Drill Teams

The Mystic Krewe of Aquarius invites high school bands and drill teams to participate in our two parades during the Mardi Gras celebration in Galveston:

• Seawall Parade: Starts at noon on the first weekend of Mardi Gras at 57th and Seawall and travels east to 25th Street, north on 25th Street to the Strand Entertainment District, east to 20th Street, back north to the Strand, and west on Strand to the finish at 25th Street. The parade route is about 4 1/2 miles long and takes about 2 hours to complete.
• Fat Tuesday Parade: Starts at 6:30 PM on Mardi Gras Day at 28th and Market Street and travels east to 25th Street (Rosenberg), turns right to Postoffice Street, turns left and proceeds to 19th Street, turns left to Strand, turns left and proceeds to 25th Street, and ends. The parade travels about 1 1/2 miles and takes approximately an hour to complete.

The Mystic Krewe of Aquarius provides an honorarium to the schools to offset the cost of participation.
